I will start this off by saying this is probably one of my favorite engagement sessions to date! When Samantha reached out to me to be her photographer for her reception, I knew they were going to have the most gorgeous engagement photos! I have known of Samantha for a long time through her family and have always thought she was so beautiful.
Samantha and Anthony met after she decided to go with a group of friends to Anthony’s house for an oyster roast and bonfire in February of 2016. With Wayne County being so small, she knew “of him” but never had the chance to meet him. After they said hello, they were glued by the hip since. She said the rest was history.
She said Anthony’s proposal was very sweet and simple –– exactly what she wanted! After they attended church in the morning at The Bridge in Mount Olive and had their usual Sunday lunch, they went back to his house for a lazy Sunday afternoon and that is when he decided he couldn’t wait any longer. He had been holding the ring for about 2 months and said that the anticipation was killing him. So in true Anthony fashion, he just went for it! She said she always wanted a sweet, detailed proposal that was heartfelt and kindly worded…and that is exactly what she received. She knew he was “the one” for her and knew that at some point we would get married, but just had no idea it would happen as soon as it did. Samantha loves surprises, so this one is by far had to be one of her favorites!
We met in Fort Fisher, NC down by the beach to get started. I LOVE shooting in the Maritime Forest with the winding trees and the rocks between the sand and the grass. Samantha had the prettiest outfits from The Noun, one of her best friend’s boutiques. We explored the forest and the beach before heading down to the end of the island to walk out on the jetty. It was a dream day!
Samantha and Anthony are getting married alongside their closest friends in Charleston and then throwing a huge party in Goldsboro for all of their family and friends to celebrate! I know it is going to be a blast and I cannot wait!
Here are my favorites from their coastal engagement session.
