I love my seniors and I love hearing what they have to say about being a part of the #DakotaHerseySeniors community! What better way to learn about what to expect during your senior experience than straight from the girls who’ve lived it?!
I reached out to a few of my #DakotaHerseySeniors to have them answer a few questions about their senior experience, how they prepped for their session, and any advice they have for upcoming seniors.
First up is Georgia Parnell (you can see her senior session here!!!), a fun-loving, always-laughing, class of 2018 senior at Charles B. Aycock High School in Goldsboro, NC.
I would tell him/her it is DEFINITELY worth their time because senior year is a very important year! It is also a great way to keep the memories of things they had interest in whilst in high school.
A great senior photographer will do anything in their power to get the exact look and feel you’re looking for for your senior photo session. Dakota never disappoints making the session all about YOU! She helps you pose and makes sure your outfits work well with the scenery; so literally all you have to do is get in front of the camera and be yourself!
The only concerns I had about my senior session were location and outfits. I eventually found out the location, but Dakota helped tremendously with picking out which outfits I should wear to photograph my personality!
My #DakotaHerseySenior session could not have been better as well as stressless. Dakota makes the shoots so fun and makes you feel comfortable in whatever you are doing! Also, don’t worry if you think you look dumb doing the fake laugh pose, I promise you look great!
The most memorable moment was our winter group session when we went to Starbucks and downtown. Dakota actually brought her friend’s dog along for the pictures and they were so cute! This session was my favorite because all of us had a great time together and had a chance to hang out.
The weekend before my senior session, I rode around to find the exact location for my pictures. A couple of days before, I picked out all of my outfits (I picked SO many, but we actually fit 6, YES SIX outfit changes!). The night before the session, I made sure my makeup was exactly how I wanted it.
My favorite part of senior year is softball season because I am playing with three of my closest friends for the last time and it is so bittersweet.
I am looking forward to football games and tailgating! I am also ready to meet some new faces and make new relationships with people.
I advise the rising seniors to make sure you have fun during this last year of high school. I currently am taking 5 courses as well as playing softball as well as going under the senior year stresses. So before you sign up for all of those AP classes, make sure you know you will have raging senioritis and you need to make this last year memorable! Take in every moment with all of your friends!
