This wedding is extra special to me, one that feels like my own family. I’ve known Landon since we were little, running around at church and our parent’s Sunday School parties and even taking his high school senior photos when I moved back to NC. I’ve known Megan for years after photographing so many of her sister Payton’s life events. I was so honored that the two of them chose me as their photographer for their wedding day and nothing about the experience disappointed.
The day started in a giant beach house with all of the girls laughing, taking photos, and getting hair and makeup done. It’s the best when couples curate a vendor team of people I love working with, so we can have fun alongside everyone else.
I have never seen so many tears shed…all happy!!! Megan and Landon have a huge support system of people that love them and I loved that they made sure to incorporate ways to make everyone feel honored. From first looks to special dances to thoughtful gifts, I was thankful that Morgan and Kelly did such a good job on makeup because we were wiping a lot of tears!
One of my favorite parts of the day was Landon giving Megan her gift. When he proposed he wrote her a letter of the reasons he fell in love with her…he told her that he misplaced the note but in reality he had it etched in wood for a display piece with the original note in a glass bottle. I thought it was so thoughtful and meaningful and something they’ll be able to hang in their home forever.
The rest of the day was just as Megan and Landon had hoped – sentimental, emotional but happy, full of laughter, and lots of celebrating with their closest friends and family…plus a lot of dancing. Landon and Megan are always the life of the dance floor at the weddings I’ve photographed so I had high expectations for their own wedding day!
Megan and Landon – thank you for inviting me to capture this season of your life! I love your love for each other and the people who love you back. I hope you have the best honeymoon!!! Congratulations!!
