October wedding season is in full swing and we kicked it off with a gorgeous fall wedding on the coast of Carolina Beach with DeAnna and James. I have known DeAnna since high school and being apart of her day was so sweet to me!
Their ceremony was held at DeAnna’s friends’ home, which was absolutely stunning. I loved the decor AND the outside of the home. It was meant for hosting! It’s always fun to go into a private residence wedding and see how we’re able to transform it, especially in photos. You likely won’t believe that DeAnna’s “getting ready” photos were taken in the kitchen. You have to find the best light and the best wall colors!!
DeAnna and James are so sweet together – he can’t keep his eyes or his hands off her! They also have an adorable daughter, Haydn, who spent the day running around, trying not to trip over her princess dress. I loved how we incorporated her into portraits…though it did take a few gummies to convince her to participate. Whatever it takes!
After the ceremony, some yummy K38 and cocktails, they spent the night dancing under the trees with a cool, fall ocean breeze. Rather than doing a formal exit (because everyone was very willing to continue their party downtown!), they ended their night with a last dance surrounded by their guests. I actually really loved this take on the end of the night tradition because it felt like one final moment with all of their most special people celebrating them.
DeAnna and James, I am so thankful to have been a part of your day and wish you so much love as you start your journey as husband and wife!!
