We are back, baby!!! I am so thankful to be back in my wedding season and kicking it off with Kate and Matt. I met Kate a few years ago when she was a bridesmaid for another Dakota Hersey couple and I was so excited to be able to serve her on her own big day! She and Matt are so in love with each other and are so kind.

They chose to tie the knot in downtown Raleigh at one of my favorite venues – Melrose Knitting Mill! It can be somewhat of a challenging space due to it having limited space downtown but that LIGHT inside is gorgeous!!! Plus the food is absolutely delicious.

My favorite part of the day was watching Kate and Matt giggle to each other all throughout the day. They chose to keep things traditional by not seeing each other until the ceremony, and when Kate got down the aisle and was given away by her dad, she and Matt were in their own little world. She was whispering about how handsome he looked and gushing over her soon-to-be husband. That same energy and love continued through the whole evening as they twirled around the dance floor.

One of the things I love most about Kate and Matt is that they took time to say hello and have a conversation with every single one of their guests. Every time I turned around Kate was hugging someone, thanking them for being there, and telling them how beautiful they looked – and SHE was the gorgeous one! Matt was found either loving on his new wife or sipping whiskeys with his best men outside.

Now they are island hopping on their honeymoon but that doesn’t mean I have to wait any longer to share their beautiful day with you!
