I get asked a lot about the types of brides I work with and I am always so thankful when I get to say that they are all some of my favorite people I’ve ever worked with.
Liz is exactly that –– one of the best brides a photographer could ask for. She is laid back, organized, and completely focused on the real reason for this celebration –– marrying the love of her life, Jesse!!
The entire day flowed seamlessly, which was completely in part to her awesome vendor team (including her coordinator, Cristy!!!) that she and her mom worked hard to put together. I am SO thankful for that because it allowed me to create gorgeous images that did the day justice!
Liz and Jesse had four toasts given at their reception. We heard from Liz’s dad, the matron of honor, the maid of honor, and the best man. Each of them had their own personal stories and memories that kept us laughing but what stood out to me was how they all agreed that Liz and Jesse were made for each other.
They talked about how great of people they are individually but after they found each other, those qualities and their happiness was amplified.
The way Jesse looked at Liz all day is what every girl dreams of and what every parent prays for. Liz just radiates when Jesse is around with the prettiest, big smile.
I can’t wait to see where this next season takes them. They have already worked through the challenges of military life, long distance, and life in general, and became even stronger because of it. This is truly a marriage that will last forever and I am so thankful I was there to capture it!
Here are my favorites from the day… just know it was REALLY hard to choose!!!

Ugh, I just love her parents!!!! They were so accommodating all day and just truly enjoying the moment.
What’s not pictured is Mrs. Pam walking up and saying “this is the first time you’ve seen me today too!” after Liz’s first look and Mr. Les saying “Oh, you look beautiful!!!” with a big hug and kiss. My heart melted!!!
Now on to bridal party photos and BRIDE AND GROOM PORTRAITS! This is my favorite time of day and my favorite images to create!
It also helps that Liz and Jesse are basically models…and they have the most fun bridal party that let us get a ton of different photos really quickly so they could get on to the party!
At the reception, Liz and Jesse had homemade maple syrup for all of their guests!! I made sure to grab some because I DEFINITELY will want it with my next pancake brunch!
I loved the song Liz and Jesse chose for their first dance. It was a mashup of a few different songs but it really felt like it was SO them. They were singing and whistling along to it the whole time, in their own little world on the dance floor.
I was able to pull Liz and Jesse away from the reception during dinner for a few more newly wed portraits now that the sun had gone down a little –– SO WORTH IT!
This is something I try to do with all of my couples if we have time because it gives them a few minutes of alone time and also helps to increase the amount of photos of just the two of them (the MOST important photos of the entire day!).
These are some of my favorites from the whole day!
Now time for toasts, cake, and dancing!!!
Every one who gave a toast did such an awesome job and their words had me slightly tearing up from behind the camera. I am starting to love this part of the night because I get to hear about my couples from all of the different stages of their lives and relationship. So sweet!
LET’s DANCE!!! Doc with Complete Weddings had the dance floor packed the whole night!
