I am SO excited to have Blake and Ty as one of my 2018 #DakotaHerseyCouples! They are actually high school sweethearts and have been together over 5 years. They met in math class, when Blake would help Ty with his homework and the rest was history!

They’ve been engaged since March 4th of last year. They had planned a cruise to The Bahamas for their Christmas present to each other and drove to Charleston the day before. Ty made reservations at The Bloom restaurant in Charleston to have dinner. When they got down there early and went walking by the water with all of the pretty fountains, they kept waking down the strip. He started saying all these sweet things that Blake said she can’t remember because she was in shock. Ty got down on one knee and asked to make her his wife! All the while, she had no idea he paid for her two best friends to go down there and stay the night as well and for them to capture our moment secretly! I love a man who thinks of literally EVERYTHING when it comes to his proposal 🙂

We met in downtown Wilmington, NC for their engagement session. It was chilly outside but we made it look as warm as possible! Blake and Ty wanted to make their session as “Charleston” as possible since that’s where they got engaged, so we spent a lot of time around the beautiful houses and palm trees.

Then we went in search of a field to show the other side of their personalities. We actually ended up in a tiny area in front of an apartment complex surrounded by highways and on-ramps. You would never know from the photos!!

I cannot WAIT to see them again at their wedding in August! The planning is almost done Blake, we can do this! 😉
