First, I want to start off this blog post by thanking Mariah for asking me to photograph her wedding. It was my first one by myself! It was absolutely the best first experience I could have asked for. I look forward to many more wonderful experiences with future brides and grooms!

The day started off with a morning yoga session for the bride and bridesmaids. After a refreshing and energizing beginning, they headed to Ulta to have their hair done then the Wilmingtonian for make up, dresses, and drinks. All I have to say is this is a fun bunch! I loved spending the morning with them as they finished last minute touches, took shots and photos, and laughed a whole lot. It was nice to see a bride and her best girls so relaxed on her big day.

Ben and Mariah chose the less stressful option of surprising their guests, marrying at the courthouse downtown, and having the party later! The whole day was focused on the celebration and beauty of the newly weds. Their first look was romantic and their bridal party was a hoot…then on to the party! The reception, held at The Balcony On Dock in Downtown Wilmington, was beautifully decorated by Melissa, of Knot Too Shabby Events. Guests enjoyed dancing, drinks, delicious entrees, yummy desserts, and music from Gipsy Danger, a charming live band.

Overall the day was laid back, beautiful, and full of celebratory happiness for the bride and groom. I am honored to have captured all of the carefully thought out details and joy between Mariah and Ben. I wish you both all the happiness in the world for your future together!
