Kaitlyn is one of my 2019 senior spokesmodels and also my first West Brunswick High School senior! I’m so thankful she found me on Instagram in time to join my team 🙂
One of my favorite parts of having a spokesmodel team is that I get to work with my girls for their entire senior year, which means their individual sessions feel more like hanging out with friends than going and taking professional photos!
Kaitlyn brought her friend Savannah and we sat in my living room talking for about 30 minutes before we ever even started talking about locations. I love feeling like my seniors aren’t just clients but girls that I would hang out with anytime they come to Wilmington!
Kaitlyn wanted something colorful, with a downtown feel but overall she basically just let me choose what I thought would look best with her outfits –– one of my favorite ways to plan shoots!!
She had a mix of simple dresses, bold patterns, and light pastels for her outfits. Kaitlyn normally wears a lot of black (don’t we all?) but she found her brightest outfits for her session! Wearing black is definitely okay if that’s your style but having color and a mix of solids and patterns are usually more flattering because they show you have shape and let you pop off of the background!
It was St. Patrick’s Day weekend for this shoot and we ran into our fair share of people (including bar crawls AND weddings!) downtown but we were laughing the whole time –– and admiring all of the brides’ dresses!
Here are my favorites from Kaitlyn’s downtown Wilmington session!!
I can’t get enough of this blue wall! It was a great amount of color to pair with her pale pink top and jeans!
I was looking for something to bring out the little bit of color in her shirt and we stumbled across this red door that was exactly the pop I was looking for! Thank you Wilmington for always providing these little gems 🙂
I love the outside of this building! It was entertaining to shoot here on St. Patrick’s Day weekend but we loved the look of the door (and all of the puppies walking by!) so of course we had to use it!
Love this one! Kaitlyn is so pretty.
Now for something a little more sassy!!! This romper is so cute, and the blue earrings are a perfect match!
We found this pink wall that did not look this beautiful from the street! Thankfully we didn’t have to include all of it and it was the perfect bright, simple background for all of the patterns in her outfit.
Next Kaitlyn changed into this cute white dress and we moved to find some color to pair with it! I’ve never used these blue windows before but every time I pass them I think “what a beautiful color!” Her blue earrings went with it so well, too!
For her last outfit, she went with a simple striped top and jeans. We headed down to the waterfront for something a little more coastal feeling since we’d already done the “city” part of our session!
