This rain has been taking a TOLL on us y’all. Not only has it been forever since we’ve seen the sun and it’s putting us in gloomy moods, it’s also caused me to reschedule shoots so many times. Emily and Michael were so patient as we kept changing and switching until we found a day that was sunny enough with little wind to do their New Bern waterfront engagement photos!
Emily and Michael started dating at the beginning of quarantine, which meant a lot of apartment dates with pizza and movies! Honestly it sounds perfect because I think that’s where some of the best conversations and memories are made. I love how they feel so comfortable with each other and were laughing together the entire shoot. We joked about how Emily basically bought an entire new wardrobe for their photos (always the most stressful part of photo prep) but I know Michael appreciates how detail-oriented and organized she is! Those characteristics are going to make their big day at May Lew Farm this September absolutely perfect. Yet another couple I am so thankful I get to work with!!!
For their engagement photos, we started on a gorgeous street in downtown New Bern that already had blooming trees. It was definitely a little chilly but you can’t tell!!! After their first outfit, they changed into something a little dressier and we headed over to the old churches covered in spanish moss. Absolutely gorgeous!
We knew we wanted to end on the water with the boats and include Emily’s pup, Poppy! Unfortunately the temperature dropped like 10 degrees so we were freezing but they were troopers!! I loved the natural laughs from playing with Poppy so much. Something about a family and their babe!
I cannot wait for fall to get here so I can photograph these two again. They are naturals and SO fun to hang out with!!! Here are just a few favorites from their New Bern engagements!
