Ashlyn and Matthew have have known of each over basically their entire lives, going to the same high school and only living 7 minutes down the road from each other. They randomly connected over social media and have been inseparable ever since! Matt made Ashlyn’s proposal dreams come true by taking her to the Biltmore Estate at Christmas time and popping the question on the front lawn.
They love being outside, whether it’s hunting or on the boat, so for their engagement photos Ashlyn wanted something that was elevated to match the occasion but still felt natural and authentic to them. We figured downtown Wilmington would be the perfect spot and I was really excited to try out some new locations with them!!
We started with some of my favorite greenery walls in the historic district, wandering through the streets, chatting about their busy wedding season (in addition to their own!) and the vendor team they’ve chosen.
It’s hard to choose favorites but I do think our ending photos take the cake for me – between Ashlyn’s fun pearl earrings and the way the Bradford pear trees gave us little white blooms, I am in love!!! We even had some kind neighbors invite us to use their property.
I cannot wait for their wedding this September at The Carolina Barn – it’s going to be magic!
