Oh I have been so excited to share this session with you! Ryan and Caroline are getting married at The Melrose Knitting Hill in Raleigh, NC next fall but since they call Washington D.C. home, they wanted their engagement photos there!

I was looking so forward to having the opportunity to shoot in DC because it has everything I love –– lots of white and colors on the trees! Plus some of my favorite photographers often shoot there so it was fun to be in the same locations.

Caroline and Ryan actually met through their jobs (which is also what brought them to DC). I love that they are fully enjoying every moment of this season in the location they are.

Ryan also gets brownie points because he proposed to Caroline on her birthday weekend after he’d arranged a massage for Caroline…then when she walked through the door he was there on one knee with rose petals everywhere! He also arranged for his parents and the rest of her family to fly up for the weekend to celebrate –– so sweet!

I actually met Caroline and Ryan through a mutual friend Logan (who will be one of Caroline’s bridesmaids!), so it was fun to get to know them through the engagement session. By the end of it I felt like we had been friends forever! They are so easy to talk to, fun-loving, and even took me for a delicious meal afterwards (you know the way to my heart is through my stomach, ha!).

I just know their wedding will be one of my favorites of 2020…mainly because I’ve been promised a really fun reception!! Y’all know I love to dance! If that day is anything like their engagements, it’ll be perfect!
