My favorite part about my job is working with so many people that I just click with immediately. Ruthie and her mom are perfect examples of what I look for in my seniors. They’re both prepared, communicative, and talk to me like we’ve been friends for 10 years!
Ruthie is a senior at Topsail High School and she spends a LOT of time in Wilmington. She’s a total girl’s girl, with a love for hanging out with her friends, shopping, laying on the beach, and being active outside. She also loves a round of golf with her dad! I’m incredibly excited for (and jealous of) her because she’ll be heading to low country next year to attend the College of Charleston. She’s going to have the BEST time!
For her photos, she wanted a mix of coastal and beachy, but also with a lot of greenery…see why she’s a perfect Dakota Hersey Senior? We started off in one of my favorite little neighborhoods with the tall oaks and spanish moss. The neighbors were so sweet to let us use their dock as well! She brought along her cap and gown, which almost never happens during my high school senior sessions but I loved it because we were able to get a few formal ones. That’s a benefit of scheduling your photos for spring!
Next we headed to the Wrightsville Beach park for more garden vibes, and then left for the beach –– where I really feel like Ruthie is in her element! These are some of my favorite photos ever because she had so much fun with laughing and being relaxed. That’s where I feel like I’m really able to create something that’s unique to you! I’ll always help with hand placement and giving you ideas for the next pose, but when you make it your own is where the magic is made.
Ruthie, you are an absolute GEM! I can’t wait to meet up with you and the rest of the girls at Dockside this summer before you head off to school. Congratulations and good luck!!!
