Oh COVID-19 weddings…I am so thankful this year hasn’t stopped love, even if it has made things a *little* harder! Elizabeth and John were originally supposed to be married in May 2020 but had to change their date due to the shutdowns.
Even though they still were legally married (YAY!!) in the spring, we had the day they’d always dreamed of with their closest family and friends at High Grove Estate on July 31. The day was stress-free, covered in beautiful florals, and VERY hot…thankfully High Grove Estate has tons of indoor locations perfect for photos!
My favorite spot is the entryway with a spiral staircase –– the perfect location for a first look with a “grand entrance.” Those are some of my favorite images from the whole day!
During the ceremony, Kayelily, the officiant, told so many sweet parts of Elizabeth and John’s story -– how they met on deployment after being naturally drawn to each other, how they are the true definition of opposites attracting in the best way, and how John’s original proposal had to shift slightly due to another deployment…but he kept it personal and intimate by proposing while at sunset while drinking an ale and moscato in their backyard. There have been a lot of obstacles that have popped up during their relationship so far, but nothing that didn’t lead to an even stronger foundation.
I loved watching Elizabeth spin around the room in her dress while John admired her. It’s so clear how much they adore each other, and are also surrounded by family and friends who love and support them. I was truly honored to be a small part of their journey!
Congratulations (again!) John and Elizabeth!!!
A huge thank you to the vendors who made this day beautiful!!!

This first look was so sweet. I was so excited that the lighting with the staircase was so beautiful so Elizabeth could have a true “princess” moment descending down the staircase!
Evan, my second shooter and partner in crime, got some GORGEOUS angles that look like pure works of art! I just have to give him a shoutout because he works hard to get the extra, unique angles and shots while I focus on the “must-have’s”!
Evan was really killing it today with the candids! I love this photo of Elizabeth’s parents sharing a kiss before all of our family photos.
For portraits, I was determined to use the front of the estate!!! It is the reason so many couples want to get married here –– wide front porches, lots of clean white lines, full green bushes…it’s a dream! The sun was actually shining pretty bright, so we were held to one section of the porch, but we got SO MANY portraits in just ONE location!!!
On to the reception!!! Perfect Palate Floral and Chad Biggs’ Planning did an amazing job!!! It was classic and beautiful.
High Grove Estate offers a ton of different food options, including late night snacks…just look at this Krispy Kreme flambe´!!!!
