Every wedding is special to me because I get to spend so much time with my couples…but this wedding was EXTRA special because Michelle and I have known each other since college (we were Alpha Chi Omega consultants together!!) AND it has been a dream of mine to shoot at The Merrimon-Wynne House.
Michelle and Kris had the absolutely most beautiful day…not too hot, just a little sprinkle to cool things down, everything ran according to the timeline (thank you Heather and team!), the most awesome team of vendors, and everyone looked gorgeous. The reception dance floor was on fire and I left the wedding feeling like I was part of both of their families! It always makes the days so much easy when the bridal party and family are not only cooperative but also have a lot of fun.
Michelle and Kristopher chose to do a first look on the porch where they read private vows to each other. In true “them” fashion, they played rock paper scissors to decide who had to read them first. I love this tradition so much because it allows them to share a moment just to themselves (yes, we’re there but we shoot this part of the day from further back so we don’t intrude on the moment!).
We knocked out so many photos beforehand that when the ceremony wrapped, we did a few of the big family groups and a few more portraits, but sent Kris and Michelle off to their cocktail hour to greet their guests…then we PARTIED. Brandon with DJ Gene Productions is a super close friend and he DJ’s in a way that leaves everyone feeling like they’ve known him forever.
I’ll forever be grateful that Michelle and Kristopher asked me to capture this special day and that the rain held off just at the right moments. You two are beautiful and I can’t wait to continue watching all of your adventures together!!
