Caroline and Ian are perhaps the most laid back, trusting couple I’ve ever worked with. I knew their wedding day would be one to look forward to when I met them for engagement photos and after we took a few photos to get them comfortable, we ended back up at their beach house hanging with Caroline’s family like I was one of them. Their wedding was no different!

Between Caroline being helped into her dress and shoes by her mom and sisters, presenting her final look to her bridesmaids for the first time, followed by seeing her dad, it was joyful tears all around. That didn’t stop either when she had her first look with Ian, quickly joined by their pup!!

One of the things I learned about Caroline is she is a master gift giver – though it does feel like she and Ian are surrounded by people who really value the sentimental. Caroline gave thoughtful, unique, and emotional gifts to her parents and sisters. Her bridesmaids gifted her with Faith Teasley’s Saltwater Collection coffee table book filled with handwritten notes to her. Later in the night her dad surprised her and Ian with a song he wrote about them, and then Ian’s brother performed their first dance song AND Ian’s dance with his mom.

Yes, I also cried, a lot.

The individual touches on their day didn’t stop with the gifts and performances. Caroline’s dad (who is apparently a man of many, many talents!) also designed their wedding “brand” that coordinated with their table linens and even printed custom flags to fly from the top of their sailcloth tent!!!

As if there weren’t already enough surprises, right before the ceremony started I saw one of my past couples, Casey and Kyle, and their whole family in the back row waving at me. We had no idea Kyle and Ian were cousins, AND Kyle’s dad was officiating the wedding!!! So then it really did feel like a family reunion for me.

Their night was spent in the absolute best way, rocking out on the dance floor to The Finns, who absolutely crushed it with all kinds of beach music.

Caroline and Ian, thank you for asking me to capture this milestone for you!! I absolutely adore both you and your families. Congratulations again!!!!
