When the world started to fall apart last year I remember being so afraid. Afraid for my own business and afraid of my couples having to make big decisions…but I know that if I loved and stood by my couples that we could work through all of our obstacles.
Katherine and Cory were on of the first of my couples who we had to have the conversation about postponing their wedding plans. I knew we’d want to reschedule because their family and friends are always so FULL of life when I see them so we KNEW waiting for the party would be worth it. We originally postponed to May 2021…but things haven’t quite gotten to where we need them to be to have the day (and party) they planned for.
So even though we’ve marked our calendars for April 23, 2022 for the BIG celebration, Katherine and Cory decided to *just do the dang thing* and eloped with a small ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends…and on the date they’ll be celebrating their first anniversary next year!!!
I shouldn’t have expected anything less from Katherine, but when she walked out in this STUNNING short satin dress with a HUGE bow on the back with matching bow shoes…I was speechless!!! Cory didn’t disappoint either in his black tux. Who says elopements can’t have a ton of style too? I love that they decided to have some fun with it.
I have to say, these smaller ceremonies steal my heart even more with every one I’m a part of. The low stress and high emotion make it a perfect day. We all met on the rooftop of The Dillon overlooking downtown Raleigh, NC. Katherine was walked out by her mom and dad to their family and friends standing with Cory, awaiting his bride.
Their ceremony was simple and sweet and I LOVED that immediately after they popped champagne and visited with all of their guests. In the midst of celebrating, we got family photos, portraits, and beautiful candids. Their newly-wed portraits are some of my favorites I’ve done!
After the rooftop celebration, everyone headed to Second Empire for a special dinner. It was perfection!!!
Katherine and Cory, it has been such a joy to be on this journey from day one (literally, I was there for the proposal too!!!). I am so happy that you are officially the Cregan’s!!!! I can’t wait to tear up the dance floor next year!!!
