Emerald Fall Walnut Hill Wedding in Raleigh, NC | Emily and Evan

November 21, 2024

This is the first wedding of the year that really felt like fall to us (even if it was actually a little toasty still). Raleigh definitely sees more of the changing colors and falling leaves so this was a nice switch up for us!! Not to mention, Emily and her planner Chelsy with The Gathering Co. both have impeccable taste and style. They chose to go with a more neutral fall palette with traditional black tuxes (my fave) and pops of emerald. This color scheme is so underrated!!!

After Emily slipped into her dress and her bridesmaids and dad shed a few tears at the sight of her, we walked her outside to meet Evan for the first time. We all giggled when he turned around and she squealed and showed off how well her dress fit (Emily’s been workin’ in the Crossfit gym and looks so strong!!!). They shared personal vows with each other and let the nerves of the day melt away now that they were together.

We took photos with the bridal party, who looked sharp in their emerald dresses and black suits. Emily and Evan’s ring bearer definitely stole the show with his dapper facial expressions and how seriously he took his job of “ring security.” No one was getting past him OR coming for his title!

Their ceremony was beautiful and sentimental, with the golden sun shining overlooking the fall trees reflecting on the pond behind them. Emily and Evan exchanged rings, lit their candle with flames from their parents’ candles, and the proceeded down the aisle to get their celebration started!!

We danced the night away to the sounds of the Emerald Empire Band, who absolutely crushed it! They didn’t even mind me jumping up on stage with them a few times to really capture the energy of the room. Their pup Birdie was there in spirit making sure everyone’s drinks were filled with delicious drinks!

Side note: this was the first wedding I got to use a new lens for my camera that gives the look and feel of a disposable. The photos turned out so fun!!! I’m excited to add a little something extra to my couples’ galleries 🙂

Emily and Evan, I wish we could relive this day all over again! You two are not only so fun to photograph but are even more fun to hang out with. No one else would appreciate us potentially finding a rare fruit on the ground and having the same curiosity to want to figure out what it was while in the middle of photos. I can’t wait to follow your marriage journey as you build your family!! Congratulations again!!!!!

A huge thank you to the vendors who made this day beautiful!!!
