Wow, wow, wow! It’s not very often that I get to photograph weddings overlooking the mountain tops AND this was the peak weekend for the fall colors on the trees. It was AMAZING. The only thing more beautiful than the trees was watching Lexi and Stuart getting totally lost in each other. My favorite part about photographing Lexi and Stuart is that all of the laughs are so genuine – I would call out a pose direction and they brought the true affection and love.
It was so special seeing one of my sweet friends from college find the love of her life and celebrate all day long with him and their families. The morning started off with the girls getting ready at a rental with the most gorgeous view. It’s amazing what we can do with a stairway with an open door of light. It looks just like a bridal suite!
Because their ceremony was earlier in the day, we headed straight to the church to make their union official. The ceremony was beautiful and I loved the quick moments I caught of Lexi and Stuart looking at each other…especially right after they walked back down the aisle and Stuart had a chance to really check out his new wife (AH!!!). It was so sweet to see her twirling around, showing off her pockets hehe.
I have to say, as my first Catholic wedding, I very much enjoyed our timeline! It was relaxed and efficient with plenty of time for portraits…and boy, did we get portraits!!!! It had been raining all morning but the sky cleared up and I was able to find an open field with mountain views. I was absolutely obsessed with the colors Lexi chose for her bridesmaids and her florals. Paired with the trees and the mountain tops it was magic!
As they kicked off their reception, Stuart’s sister gifted them with an oil painting painted by her of one of their engagement photos. It was stunning!!!! Afterwards, we danced away the night, taking photos with all of their family and friends. I loved that Lexi and Stuart prioritized getting posed photos with their guests. It doesn’t always happen!
Lexi and Stuart, thank you so much for bringing me to the mountains to celebrate with you! I am so happy for you and I hope you spend the rest of your lives looking at each other that way you did this day. Love you two!!!!
