I always get so excited with past friends reach out to me about photographing their weddings. Caitlyn and I were sorority sisters in Alpha Chi in college, and after meeting Liam I just couldn’t imagine a better match for her. They are so unserious in the best ways, always laughing, making jokes, and keeping things fun.
The day started with the groom’s crew sipping on some Jack Daniels and the bride’s girls belting out show tunes from their favorite musicals (I was loving this energy). Even with the constant jokes, there were still quite a few tears as Caitlyn made her first appearances – both from Caitlyn’s dad, her brothers, and Liam. I love the opportunity to see my brides full embrace their princess status on a wedding day.
After a beautiful ceremony and a quick trip down to the riverfront to get a few photos with the sunset, the party kicked off with a bang. First the bridesmaids walked in with a choreographed dance to the Love Island theme song “I came here for love,” which I (no lie!!!) had JUST said a few weeks ago would be the perfect entrance song. Then the groom’s crew entered in with Blink 182 energy.
That definitely set the tone for the whole night with their guests keeping the dance floor full and also representing their fur baby that couldn’t be there.
One of my favorite details of theirs was the getaway car – an authentic London cab!!! I fell in love with the cabs in London this summer and had no idea that we had one here in Wilmington, so definitely add that to your inspo board!!!
Caitlyn and Liam, congratulations!!! Your day was as beautiful, welcoming, and fun as the two of you are. I can’t wait to see all that your marriage journey brings!!!
A huge thank you to the vendors who made this day beautiful!!!
