WEDDINGS HAVE RESUMED!!!! This year was my first year with a FULL wedding schedule and I was so looking forward to a spring with a beautiful wedding almost every weekend…unfortunately, all of those weddings had to postpone or switch up their plans.
Casey and Kyle, who had planned a big, beautiful wedding at The River Landing, made the difficult choice to move their date to June 2021 –– but they still wanted to begin their marriage on their original date!
What makes this the most special is that Casey had always dreamed of having her ceremony in her home church in her hometown. With the restrictions on events and having to postpone the “big” day, she and Kyle actually got the best of both worlds! They are truly old souls at heart with huge families, so this intimate celebration with just family was perfect.
Casey got ready at her parent’s home, wearing a simple, tea-length dress that fit perfectly with the “classic, southern wedding” theme for the day.
Their ceremony was sweet, officiated by her uncle and with special songs and readings. Kyle teared up when he saw his bride –– which was special for me to see since I met him freshman year in our dorm!
Once portraits were complete and the marriage license was signed, we headed into the fellowship hall for a family dinner catered by Casey’s aunts. SO yummy!!! The night ended with delicious lemon cake and a bird seed exit! I love that they kept it traditional all the way to their “goodbye!”
I knew I loved both of their families from meeting a few people over the past few years, but after meeting everyone and experiencing this special day with them, I am even MORE excited for next year when we can CELEBRATE even more!
Congratulations again to Mr. and Mrs. Schimelfenig!!!!
