The “fall” wedding season is kicking off with an absolutely gorgeous wedding after two months off! I was feeling particularly creative after spending some time in France and was excited to bring that energy to Ashlyn and Matt’s day. Thankfully Ashlyn is incredibly detail-oriented which made my job easy and fun.

Her getting ready photos are some of my favorites I’ve ever taken, with the beautiful light coming through the windows. One of my favorite details of hers was her Tecovas boots, branded with her initials and wedding date. She even gifted Matt his own pair of Tecovas boots to match.

Ashlyn and Matt’s families are all so thoughtful and every first look was accompanied with a sentimental gift or a heartfelt letter. Ashlyn’s makeup artist put in overtime to make sure she looked good even with a few tears!!

It’s important to me that the wedding day is balanced between getting the photos that will help you remember the day and actually experiencing it. I try to have all photos finished well before the ceremony start time, and Ashlyn and Matt chose to use this time for a quiet first touch where they read private vows to each other in the bridal suite. It was the perfect way to set the intention for their ceremony.

After a beautiful ceremony, family photos, and bridal party photos, we grabbed a few newly-wed portraits before Ashlyn and Matt went inside to cool off and get ready to make their grand entrance down the stairs!!

The rest of the evening was spent keeping the energy up on the dance floor. I’ve become a HUGE fan of both the glow sticks and bringing out sunglasses during dancing!! They make the photos so fun (future brides – make note of this!)
