There are just some people that you gravitate towards…who have infectious laughs and make you want to hang around just because you love their energy.

Kyra and Evan are those people.

Lots of laughter and big love. I’m so thankful they chose me to be a part of their story, through all of the twists and turns of planning a potential destination wedding to deciding “you know what, I don’t want to wait one more second – lets freaking do this thing” and planning an intimate elopement with their family and friends. This day was perfectly them.

We started off the day with a private “first touch”, where they stood back to back without seeing each other, took communion, prayed together, and read their personal vows. I loved how even with more non-traditional event they took the time to prepare their hearts and minds for the huge moment of becoming husband and wife.

My favorite part of the day was the fact that we ONLY did the things that they wanted. I wish this was the case for all weddings! It was fun and simple, but still filled with sentimental moments because Kyra and Evan opted for the traditions that felt like them and ditched the ones that didn’t really matter to them. Who says you can’t have it all!

After a gorgeous ceremony in the rose garden at the JC Raulston Arboretum, we headed to the hotel for a night of dancing and celebrating…and boy, did they celebrate! I loved hearing all of the toasts from their family, best man, and maid of honor. Hearing Evan’s laugh is just one of those things that makes you laugh right along side him!

To end the night, Kyra and I talked about how we could go out with a bang and she asked if we could do some fun hotel night shots… totally outside my normal routine and I LOVED IT. Working with Kyra and Evan is so easy and fun because they trust me and also allow me to just be creative and see what happens. They’re some of my favorite “end of the night” photos ever!

Kyra and Evan – You both bring such light to this world, so together I can only imagine the impact. I just love you guys. Congratulations!
