My favorite weddings are the ones where I’ve been “part” of the family for a while and I get to feel like I’m at a huge reunion! I met Lauren a few years ago at for her graduation photos at ECU…then her younger sister Lydia applied for my senior spokesmodel team and I photographed her for a year…so Lauren came to her individual session…then Chandler proposed and Lauren asked me to photograph their big day!
This was my first wedding at The Barn at Broadslab and it was so cute! We had been having some major wind storms throughout the week leading up to their wedding but I was SO thankful we didn’t have to deal with anything too major on the day of. It did start sprinkling a little during their portraits but you’ll see that that didn’t stop us from getting a TON of options!
There were so many sweet little moments throughout the day, like Lauren’s grandma tearing up as she helped put on her necklace and Chandler’s first dance with his mom. There was also a lot of laughter, which always makes me happy to see because wedding days can either be stressful or a party!
The best moment though was Lauren turning the corner to walk down the aisle and Chandler doing his best to hold himself together. I don’t blame him. She looked breathtaking! They had a sweet ceremony with songs sang by Lauren’s uncle and they planted a tree to signify them growing a life together…then it was time to eat and dance!!
Lauren and Chandler, thank you so much for asking me to be a part of your day! I can’t wait to see the life you continue to build together. Have fun in Mexico!!!
