Beautiful couple, Spanish moss, a painted sunset, and a dog in a tux…it doesn’t get much better than this. Olivia and Hudson’s wedding day was so authentic to them – traditional and classic but still relaxed and personal.
This was my first time shooting at Amelia Grove and I have to say, it is a new favorite of mine!!! It has such a calming feel next to the water and with the huge trees. The morning was spent with everyone getting ready inside the house, feeling kind of like a movie with everyone running from room to room.
We used the big porches for their first look, where Hudson and Olivia read private vows to each other. I typically try not to listen just to give privacy to the moment but I couldn’t help but pick up on a few words that had me tear up. They love each other so purely and deeply; it’s beautiful to see.
After gifts were exchanged (including Olivia surprising Hudson with a planned trip to Mexico next year!), we gathered the bridal party for all of their photos – including Sampson, their beautiful, goofy chocolate lab. Hudson had a custom boutonniere with feathers from turkeys and birds he’s hunted and Sampson was very intrigued and confused by that haha.
The ceremony was sweet with a lot of giggles, led by Hudson’s dad. We headed into the reception to eat some of the most delicious food I’ve had at a wedding, and then appeared a *gorgeous* sunset. We grabbed Olivia and Hudson, walked down to the water, and found two Adirondack chairs.
It started off first as a photo-op but turned into a quiet moment for the two of them to take a break from their party and hang out by the stillness of the water.
These are my favorite moments of the days. When we can capture a real moment and let you sit in it and actually experience it.
Olivia and Hudson, thank you for asking me to be a part of your day!! Weston, Drew, and I had so much fun with you and I love seeing how much you love each other. Congratulations again!!!!
A huge thank you to the vendors who made this day beautiful!!!
