Okay…another PACKED blog post comin’ at you. I just can’t help myself. When the wedding and couple are THIS beautiful it’s really hard to narrow them down!!!
You may remember Lindsay and Devin from their Bald Head Island engagements, but as a refresher I’m still in awe that I fell into Lindsay’s life through a Facebook post! She was looking for a wedding photographer and I threw my name in the ring with my fingers crossed that she’d reach out to me. A Facebook message and two hour ice cream date later, I would officially be their photographer!!
Their day was absolutely perfect. I say that about most weddings but this one was special. Lindsay and Devin hired the best vendors – I especially loved working with Edie and her team! Flowers by Sol created the most beautiful floral arrangements. Even though it had been raining and SNOWING the whole week prior, we had a sunny and cool day. It was meant to be!!
Lindsay and Devin’s family and friends now feel like my own!! I truly felt like I was photographing my best friend’s wedding with the way they treated me and Weston. I hope they all need to work with a photographer in the future so I can see them again!!!
My absolute favorite part of the day was their first look and seeing Lindsay walk down the aisle. They chose to do a first look because portraits were SUPER important to them. We wanted to ease nerves and have plenty of time to get all of the photos they wanted. The nerves were high and there were tears but I could tell that a weight was lifted…and we got some of the most beautiful photos!!
When the ceremony started and the doors opened to let Lindsay and her dad walk down the aisle, Devin lost it…and then I almost lost it!!! There is something about seeing the bride when it’s really happening – the music, the people, the decor…it’s truly magical.
Here are my (many) favorite moments of their wedding at St. Thomas Preservation Hall in Downtown Wilmington, NC!!!
The vendors who made this day beautiful:

Edie and her event planning team did a PHENOMENAL job on setting up the space for the ceremony…and then flipping it for the reception!! So gorgeous!
For anyone that is worried about not having that “I’m not crying, you’re crying” reaction from your groom if you do a first look…Devin LOST it even MORE when Lindsay walked down the aisle. It was SO sweet!!!
Weston got this shot and I am SO proud!!! It’s beautiful!!!
I seriously love this couple so much!!! And their family and friends too! It will be hard to top this wedding day!
Be prepared…these are some of my FAVORITE bride and groom portraits that I’ve EVER taken. Because we already had a ton of portraits from the first look, we were able to get a little more adventurous and go to two of my favorite locations in downtown…something with some greenery and then the parking deck!!! DREAMY. GOALS. OBSESSED.
Now on to the dancing!!! I absolutely loved this crowd, especially Devin’s groomsmen!!!
Katie and Zach are one of my #DakotaHerseyCouples getting married in October of this year!!! I cannot wait to do this all again with them!!
I love my #DakotaHerseyBrides!!!!
